Meet the Judges

Mrs Heather Arnatt

Area Coordinator @ Voluntary Centre Services
As an enthusiastic Volunteer Centre coordinator in Lincolnshire my role is to support and inspire community organisations in the West Lindsey area to achieve their potential, work collaboratively and develop new opportunities to engage volunteers. I am passionate about the role of small, local organisations and community action in development resilient and vibrant communities. I have previously organised high profile charity and community events in Lincolnshire including the Lincolnshire Heritage Awards and V:Expo Lincolnshire: The Lincolnshire Volunteer Manager's conference as well as sitting on the judging panel for the last three Lincolnshire Sport and Physical Activity Awards.

Mr Christopher Stacey

Co-director @ Unlock
I have been co-director of Unlock for 6 years; Unlock is a national charity that covers England and Wales. I am an established and well-respected charity leader, campaigner and advocate with a specific focus on criminal justice and social inclusion issues. I am a trustee of Clinks, the national infrastructure charity that supports, represents and campaigns for the voluntary sector working in criminal justice in England and Wales. I am also a a member of the Ministry of Justice's Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group. I live on the outskirts of Lincoln with my wife and two young children.

Mrs Steph Boyfield

Project Officer @ Voluntary Centre Services
I've worked in the voluntary and community sector in Lincolnshire for twelve years and am passionate about all things volunteering! Whether someone has a few minutes spare here and there, or regular time to give, I believe that everyone has the ability to make a difference in life. All too often, the impact of volunteering is underestimated so I'd love to be a part of something that recognises the good that people do, often without any recognition, in their communities, as well as the support networks that often sit behind those volunteers. To be chosen to be for the judging panel for the East Midlands Charity Awards 2020, would be amazing, albeit a little nerve wracking, but I would enjoy the challenge!

Miss Kelly McCormack

Events and Communications Officer @ University of Leicester
Kelly is an Event Manager for University of Leicester, Director of Social Enterprise Iconic Music Dance Drama Ltd and Trustee for Voluntary Action Leicester. She has been involved in volunteer and charity work since 2009 and has completed numerous Zip Lines and Abseils. After realising the opportunities available in the East Midlands she moved here permanently in 2014 and hasn't looked back. In 2019 she was Highly Commended for Volunteer of the Year at the East Midlands Charity Awards and won East Midlands Women's Award in the category of Outstanding Woman in Art, Media & Music.

Mrs Sarah Passam

Senior Volunteer Development Officer @ Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire
My main role is to carry out a range of development work and to co-ordinate the volunteer brokerage service in Northamptonshire. This involves the promotion of volunteering to the general public and organisations and providing support and training services to VCS organisations. I also work in partnership with University of Northampton to provide tailored student and academic volunteering support along their Changemaker Team. I also contribute to the strategic planning and facilitate and deliver workshops and training at various events, conferences and meetings that VIN holds to engage and inform the sector.

Mr Phil Robertshaw

Senior Philanthropy Manager
I have been a fundraiser for nearly thirty years, based almost entirely in the north west. I’ve worked at senior level across a range of disciplines and delivered significant income growth for regional, national and international charities. I currently lead the NSPCC’s philanthropy team in the North of England and Northern Ireland, more than trebling our income during my time in post. Before that I led the Fundraising team at East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield.

So, if you have a few hours spared and meet the judging criteria we would be delighted to have you as part of the team.
